What you're looking at
HashStream shows every transaction on the Hedera mainnet in real time, streamed live from the public mirror node. Each dot is a single transaction.
The river
Every dot is one transaction. It enters on the left and flows right, sorted into a lane by type — crypto transfer, consensus message (HCS), smart contract call, and more.
A dot's size reflects the fee paid — larger dots cost more, and high-fee transactions flare.

The network map
Small stars are accounts — each one is paying for transactions right now.
Larger shapes are what those accounts are using: topics (Consensus Service message feeds), contracts (smart contracts), tokens (fungible tokens and NFTs) and accounts (receiving HBAR). The busier it is, the bigger it gets; its colour is the kind of transaction it mostly receives, matching the Lanes view.
Every moving dot is one transaction, flying from the account that paid for it to the thing it touched. Lines show who has been talking to whom recently.
The core in the middle is the network itself. Transactions without a single destination — such as Ethereum-format transactions — fly into it. Hover it to see the latest block.
The map covers roughly the last 20 seconds — anything that goes quiet fades away, and newcomers appear as they start transacting.
Reading the patterns
Many stars around one shape usually means a popular app, token or topic that lots of accounts are using.
One star with a single busy line is often an automated service or bot doing the same thing over and over.
One star with lines fanning out is one account touching many things — often an exchange, wallet backend or airdrop.
Most active right now on the left ranks the busiest destinations. Names come from the token's name or the description its creator gave the topic or contract.

The meteor shower
Every falling meteor is one transaction, coloured by type — the key along the bottom shows which is which.
Bigger, brighter meteors paid higher fees, and the biggest flare.
The numbers
Transactions / sec at the top counts exactly the dots crossing the screen right now, so the number always matches what you see. Each lane's rate is its share of those same dots.
